Welcome to the Registration Page of the 44th Annual UC Davis Emergency Medicine Winter Conference!

February 24 - 28, 2025

Everline Resort and Spa

400 Resort Road | Olympic Valley, CA 96146

This activity is designed for emergency medicine health care professionals. It also provides an excellent educational opportunity for physicians and allied health professionals who are peripherally involved in the management of ill or injured patients.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND

As the first line of defense against injury and illness, emergency medicine providers serve an extraordinary public safety function. Health care delivery models, reimbursement, and the technical care of medical and trauma patients is changing rapidly. Based upon participant evaluations, survey feedback, and other assessment methods, the need for cutting edge updates about emergency medicine has been identified. This course is designed to enhance provider knowledge and competence in areas identified in the needs assessments

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the selection, dosing, methods of administration, safe use, contraindications and precautions of drugs based on their chemical and pharmacologic properties, including anti-arrhythmic agents, paralytics, and thrombolytics.

  • Apply relevant anatomical and biomedical principles to the planning, delivery, and monitoring of patients presenting with emergency medical conditions such as posterior circulation stroke, acute myocardial infarction, and traumatic brain injury.

  • Demonstrate effective application of bedside emergency medicine procedures such as point of care ultrasound, burn debridement, and video laryngoscopy.

  • Outline comprehensive patient management plans for specific patient populations including those presenting with stroke, arrhythmia, and pulmonary hypertension

  • Apply common core principles of patient safety, quality, timeliness, efficiency, stewardship, beneficence, non-malfeasance, and health equity to all patients.

  • Incorporate best practice recommendations published guidelines from authoritative external organizations, institutions, and professional groups into routine practice in order to meet medical, legal, philosophical, ethical, and health care management standards of care.
